Nasdaq Commodities Welcomes Geton Energy

Nasdaq Commodities is pleased to announce that Geton Energy has joined Nasdaq’s Nordic Commodities market.

Lietuvos Energija Group, of which Geton is part, has been present on Nasdaq’s Nordic Commodities exchange since 2016 when Energijos Tiekimas became the only Lithuanian supplier of electricity active on this market.

“One of the goals established in the Strategy LE 2030 of Lietuvos Energija is the expansion in the European markets. By strengthening our positions in Poland, we can also expand activities in other European countries; therefore, we start trading on the wholesale market of Scandinavia. This will help diversify our wholesale electricity trading portfolio and expand the geographic coverage of our operations,” says Diana Kazakevič, Regional Manager of Lietuvos Energija for Poland and Chairwoman of the Board of Geton Energy.

"The addition of Geton supports our efforts to create an even more geographically diversified marketplace,” says Georg Aasen, Head of European Commodities at Nasdaq. ”We welcome Geton Energy to the Nasdaq family and look forward to working together with them in the future.”
