Traffic Data June 2012The number of passengers on international flights 246 thousand in June
The Company carried 246 thousand passengers on international flights in June. The number of passengers was up by 15% as compared to June last year. The capacity increase compared to June 2011 was 15%. The passenger load factor was 82.5% and improved by 1.7 percentage points between years. The number of passengers on the Trans-Atlantic market increased by 24% compared to June in previous year and the increase in number of tourists visiting Iceland was 17%.
Passengers on regional flights and Greenland flights were approximately 35 thousand in June, which was a 5% increase from June last year. The load factor was 71.1%, increasing by 0.4 percentage points compared to June 2011. Sold block hours in charter flights decreased by 7% in June. The decrease is due to one less aircraft being deployed in charter cargo flights than last year. Cargo transport increased by 20% as compared to June last year. The number of available room nights at our hotels was up by 13% from previous year. The room utilization was 75.3%, 2.7 percentage points higher than in June 2011.
