Icelandair carried 250 thousand passengers in August which is a record passenger number for the month of August. Passenger increase between years was 18%. Capacity increase at the same time was 19% and the load factor was 85.3%. Traffic increased on all markets, but relatively most on the market From Iceland where the increase was 25%.
Air Iceland carried 38 thousand passengers in August and the passenger increase between years was 4%. The load factor was 74.9% and improved by 4.1 percentage points from last year. Sold block hours in the capacity sector decreased by 3%, reason being maintenance work at Icelandair Cargo. Freight increased by 10% and the room utilisation at Icelandair Hotels was 82.3%, decreasing by 0.9 percentage points year on year.
