Annual report 2011

Lund, Sweden, 2012-02-28 15:00 CET --

Doro is today publishing its Annual Report at www.doro.com. Once printed, copies of the Annual Report will also be sent to those who have so requested.

Jérôme Arnaud, Doro’s President and CEO affirms in his comments that 2011 was yet another year of favorable growth. A total of nearly one million mobile phones were sold and sales rose by 18 percent. Consequently, Doro also strengthened its leading position in the segment – mobile telephony for seniors – that Doro started to establish in 2007. In Western Europe, Doro is currently twice the size of its closest competitor. The company also improved its operating profit. Despite considerable investment, the EBIT margin grew by nearly a full percentage point.
This development was possible thanks to a flexible and, from all perspectives, efficient business model and a well-defined strategy building, among other things, on innovation and global market presence.

In 2011 alone, Doro launched seven new mobile phones, of which several were based on 3G technology, 60 software programs and nine fixed-line phone models. Doro also signed 12 new agreements with leading operators and retailers on four continents.

According to Jérôme Arnaud, development will now continue in two directions:
In part, Doro will increase its presence in so-called feature phones that are easy to use and that can be configured remotely by relatives.
Doro will also develop solutions to simplify the use of applications and services. These include easier interfaces for Android devices and Windows-based PC that relatives can access via the web. Thanks to Doro’s acquisition of Prylos SAS in the summer of 2011, it has been possible to achieve this development in less than six months.
At the same time, Doro is developing its own smartphones, and the first of these, the Doro PhoneEasy® 740 was launched as recently as yesterday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
